New here? Welcome! Here’s a bit of my story and why I’m excited about this next chapter.

This year has been one of intentional growth, adventure, and evolution. After leaving my corporate job in October, I spent time traveling, reflecting, learning, and laying the foundation for a life that feels more aligned.

Highlights from the year:
↟ First international small-group adventure booked for 2026
↟ Resumed alpine climbing training with the Seattle Mountaineers
↟ Traded my crossover SUV for my dream 4Runner and turned it into an overland adventure rig
↟ Backpacking Patagonia, the Dolomites, Havasupai, plus a Southwest road trip
↟ 200-hour certified yoga teacher

I’m learning to trust the slower, quieter unfolding and to follow what feels aligned rather than rushed. Along the way, I’ve realized this chapter isn’t just about me. It’s about creating space for connection, exploration, and shared experiences.

I’ve also learned that it’s completely normal for your path to evolve as you do, and I’m choosing to embrace that fully (even when it feels uncomfortable).

I don’t know exactly what the future holds, but I do know this - I never want to stop pursuing what lights me up: learning new skills, exploring WA peaks, and giving back to the outdoor, climbing, and wellness community.

❄️ Happy Winter Solstice
The shortest, quietest day of the year, and a reminder that growth doesn’t always look comfortable. Sometimes it looks like showing up anyway, trusting the process, and taking one step forward. And when these days feel dark, remember: lighter days are coming. 🤍

Took a stroll downtown to catch the holiday lights and vibes. Of course the Great Wheel was not even lit for whatever reason (!!), so I'm going to have to go back again in a few days to catch the candy cane lights. It'll inspire and encourage me to stroll longer.

When I signed up for this 2 week immersive 200-hour YTT, I thought I was preparing for the mountains. Turns out, I was preparing for my life.

What a beautiful way to end the year doing exactly what I set out to do all year long: living intentionally and building the life I want. Achieving this certification is the ultimate marker of that commitment. In the vast quiet of Joshua Tree, I didn't just find stillness; I found the clarity to leave behind what no longer serves me in the desert dust.

• The Unexpected Calling: My initial goal was purely physical - deepening my practice, breathwork, and meditation to increase lung capacity for high-elevation treks. Instead, I found a deep, soul-shaking calling. The teachings of Patanjali's 8 Limbs of Yoga didn't feel like a theory; they resonated so deeply, it felt like I was already living them.

• The Bunk House Diaries: Sharing a room with three incredible roommates made the intensity manageable. Conversations would go from deeply philosophical one minute to uncontrollable, belly-aching laughs the next. Those connections were as vital as the practice!

• Teaching From the Heart: The journey was intense and beautiful. I loved attending the practicums & watching all the unique personalities shine through. Writing my own sequence and teaching from the heart was so fun and empowering.

This is more than a certification; it's a recalibration. I am refreshed, called, and ready for what's next. This is truly only the beginning.

It’s been a week of closure, clarity, and stepping into something new with intention. Growth isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s the quiet decisions that change everything.

I left Corporate America. Again. But that’s a story for another time. Even the second time around, it still was not an easy decision to make. In the end, I chose ME.

Money comes and goes, but time? Time is something I can never get back. And tomorrow isn’t guaranteed.

I’m deeply aware and am grateful to even have the choice to make such a big decision. This isn’t about telling anyone to do the same, but rather about living more intentionally instead of on autopilot.

Meaningful work and a life well lived have always mattered to me. I feel things deeply, even if I don’t always express them outwardly, but I’m learning to change that, to live and share more openly.

This next chapter is about being intentional with how I spend my days and who I spend them with. My hope is that by sharing my journey, I can encourage you to listen to whatever’s been calling you too, whether it’s booking your first solo trip, prioritizing your well-being, learning something new, or simply giving yourself permission to dream bigger than what’s expected.

Here’s to embracing the season of change, walking away from what no longer serves you, and building a life that truly feels like yours.

These were taken on my iPhone by a sweet teenager having the time of her life exploring and climbing back and forth to the cave while her family waited below. She offered to take my photo and I happily said yes. Why not? I made only a few minor edits but I really like how they turned out.

It wasn’t until I started hiking back down alone without the noise of the crowds, that I finally felt present enough to really feel the vortex energy of Boynton Canyon. Maybe it’s just been an emotional week for a lot of reasons, but something about the quiet hike felt like exactly what I needed: a little energetic healing.

Sedona is absolutely stunning. I’m looking forward to exploring more of its beauty and magic, and seeing what else this place has to teach me. 💛

Part III: Beaver Falls

The confluence is where Havasu Creek meets the Colorado River and you can see the vivid blue and deep green waters swirling together. It’s about 9 mi from the campground and one can expect multiple water crossings and some scrambling over slick rocks and boulders.

As adventurous as I am, and as much as I am aware of my abilities, I did not want to venture solo where there was a high probability that crossing chest deep water where I’d have to carry my pack above my head would mentally freak me out so I didn't go beyond Beaver Falls.

After leaving Mooney Falls to Beaver Falls, I was alone up until the first water crossing. Initially, I didn’t realize it was a water crossing and thought I was still off trail because I did go off trail to take pictures of the water. I didn’t see any pink ribbons across the water to where I was supposed to cross (not until my trip back). I pulled my map out and started to backtrack but luckily, two groups caught up to me and confirmed it was the first water crossing.

What I thought would be a typical hike turned into one of the best parts of my trip. The trail led me through a lush, jungle-like scenery draped in wild grapevines, towering canyon walls, a wide field dotted with cactuses, 3 water crossings, and a few more ladders that kept things interesting. It wasn’t just a hike - it was a true adventure, full of little surprises and beauty at every turn. My heart had never felt more full. I made it back to camp in time for lunch and even made it up to the fry bread station for dessert. It was a good day and I’m so blessed to have had the opportunity to experience everything Beaver Falls had to offer.

Part II: Mooney Falls
 After setting up camp, I took a much-needed nap, made myself some lunch, and then went to scout out Mooney Falls. It’s the tallest waterfall in the Havasupai Reservation at nearly 200 ft. I planned to descend it the next morning on my way to Beaver Falls, but curiosity got the best of me.

The trail down is more of a vertical climb than a hike. Expect wet chains, slippery ladders, and narrow tunnels carved into the rock. It looks intimidating at first glance, but honestly, it wasn’t as scary as I expected. The mist from the falls soaks everything, and if there’s a line (one person at a time up or down), you’re guaranteed to get drenched waiting your turn.

For anyone attempting it: I wouldn’t recommend going solo unless you’re comfortable with heights, climbing, or exposure. The trick is to always face the ladder when descending and keep three points of contact at all times.

By the time I reached the bottom, adrenaline was rushing through me and I couldn’t stop grinning. There were only two other people at the base of Mooney Falls, and having that space almost to myself felt unreal.

Climbing back up later took some effort (short people problems 😅), but again, I was grateful for my climbing experience, it definitely came in handy. It’s one of those places that demands patience and presence. And every step down, and back up was worth it.

In order to get to Beaver Falls or the Confluence, hikers must go down Mooney. I learned that most folks don't even go beyond Mooney, if at all. Stay tuned for more pics from the trek to Beaver Falls. The quest there was so much fun!

Part I: Havasu Falls
 They say this is the most expensive backpacking permit in the US. Was it worth it? YES. 10/10, I would absolutely go again if I ever get the chance to. But I'd honestly want to go with a group, split the cost of a mule and opt for a helicopter ride out. Between the permit cost and the logistics of reaching this remote area of the Havasupai Reservation, it’s not a cheap adventure. But it’s one that feels truly earned.

I took the traditional route hiking ~10 miles in with everything I needed: shelter, food, and essentials in my @durstongear Kakwa 55 pack. No mule to haul my gear, no helicopter ride in or out (though a helicopter ride out would’ve been nice for the aerial view!) The hike to the campground wasn’t difficult since most of it is flat/downhill, but those final two miles after the village felt endless. By then, I was so ready to drop my pack and rest.

When I reached Havasu Falls and turned my head toward the roaring sound of the water, I literally teared up. It was everything I had imagined and more. “OMG. I can’t believe I'm here!" I thought. The turquoise water, the mist in the air, the sheer power of it all. It looked exactly like the photos I’d seen online, yet somehow felt surreal standing there in person.

Because of the cost and logistics, I opted for a solo adventure. This was my first solo multi-day backpacking trip and I have to admit, it was exhilarating, liberating, and empowering.

I’m deeply grateful for the chance to have experienced this place. Just a week before my entry date, a flash flood had swept through the area, and another is expected later this week from Hurricane Priscilla… a humbling reminder that nature always has the final say.

Summer came and went. PSL season is here!? I have a million tasks and editing photos has been low on the priority list. Moody views in the Dolomites. Got rained on one day and was about to embark on another solo side quest but I saw dark clouds and the gondolas were being shut down due to thunderstorms. Reconnected with the group to head back to town for coffee and dessert instead.

Hut-to-hut backpacking: I’m convinced this is the way to travel abroad. Less weight, more freedom, and a chance to connect with nature and culture in a whole new way.

I didn't get as many photos as I'd like, but Rifugio Alpe di Tires (second image) and Rifugio Antermoia were my favorite in terms of the trek to them, epic views, delicious food, and atmosphere.

Living the dream. Just a few years ago, I set a goal to take at least one international trip a year and I can’t believe it took me this long to start. Sometimes I feel like I’m behind in life, but travel has reminded me that everyone moves at their own pace. I’m grateful for the pull to explore, it’s humbled me and taught me more than I ever expected.

Redefining Luxury Travel: It’s not about the price tag, it’s about how it makes you feel. Luxury can be as simple and powerful as a weekend spent in the woods, unplugged, grounded, and completely present.

I recently stayed at a partner property and it was exactly what I needed. No distractions. Just a cozy cabin, fresh air, a book (or three), journal, wine, and the space to reflect, and reconnect with myself.

To me, luxury is personal. It's when your trip reflects you - your pace, your passions, your priorities. It's about creating space for what fills you up.

I'm a light sleeper and usually need it to be pitch black dark with zero/minimal noise in order to fall asleep, but falling asleep to the sound of the waterfall was heavenly. It also could've been because my feet were getting tired at this point and it was just so nice to be sleeping in a real bed that night that I KO'd as soon as my head hit the pillow. 😅

Flying into Chile was an adventure in itself. Driving into Torres del Paine was exciting. Arriving at the first Refugio (Chileno) was exhilarating. 🤩

Sadly, due to the PNW-like rain and overcast conditions on the second day, the hike and banger views of the iconic Mirardor Las Torres base did not happen. 😢 Despite that, the W trek was still beautiful and breath-taking.

I'm ready to go back to complete the O trek, give Mirardor Las Torres another try, and explore Patagonia on the Argentina side with an emphasis on photography. ¡Vamos!

My time in Tokyo was short. With only about three (personal) days, I was still able to get at least 22K steps a day 😅 I thought I took more photos but sadly didn't. Sharing a few images I captured strolling at night. Also wanted to share some of my favorite spots and neighborhoods. If I were to go back to Japan, I'd spend more time outside of Tokyo. Shinjuku and Shibuya were great to experience but way too crowded for me.

📍Harajuku - located between Shinjuku and Shibuya. I loved strolling through this neighborhood with all the cute boutiques and shops.

📍 Golden Gai - maze of very tiny bars located in Shinjuku. I had some of the most delicious and refreshing yuzu liqueur at the first bar I stopped in.

📍Omoide Yokocho - also a maze of narrow alleys, but with food stalls. Great stop for yakitori and soba noodle fans.

📍Latte Art Mania - a very tiny coffee shop, I was the first to arrive and glad I came on a weekday (no lines!). It definitely lived up to the hype. Lattes were so delicious. The ham sandwich was also very good. They take pride in their latte art and host classes regularly - super talented baristas.

📍 Don Quijote - I think all stores in Japan are either tiny, a large maze, and/or are multi-level. This chain has literally everything you can find at a bargain price. I wish I purchased more skincare products here.

📍711, Family Mart, Lawson - I tried something at all three. Why can't the US have quality convenience stores? Will gladly buy $1-3 onigiri, sandwiches, coffee, ice cream, smoothies, and snacks everyday!

📍Okonomiyaki: this was probably the best food I had. The place I went to with my work peers earlier in the week was the best. I tried looking up the name but it's in Japanese in the Nihonbashi Ningyocho neighborhood. I tried a place near Shinjuku because I was craving it but it was not the same. Will have to see if there is anything comparable in Seattle.
